This Week

Get Mortified.

“Funny and horrifying.” – USA Today

There are two universal truths behind the Mortified project:

1. We are not who we were in high school.
2. But on some level, we always will be.

Real people share hilarious tales of their teenage angst to devastating comedic effect this Saturday, February 8, at 8pm in MASS MoCA’s Club B-10.

We only do comedy when it’s this good.

You can have the sweetest thing.

Romance is in the air this Valentine’s Day when MASS MoCA hosts your best-ever Date Night on Friday, February 14 from 6pm to 9pm.

Sweethearts will indulge in a romantic candlelight dinner next to our gallery waterfall. Catch live music with Justin Hillman in our coffeehouse cafe, and cap off the night with our champagne cocktail, The Sweetest Thing.

No need to schedule a baby-sitter: Child care is available in Kidspace. Drop off the kids for their own special Valentine dinner and art activities.

Space is limited, so reserve your space today by calling our box office at 413.662.2111 x1.

So hot, you’ll see smoke.

“He’s been a reggae star almost since reggae was born.”
The New York Times

It’s real. Reggae legend Burning Spear is bringing his Burning Band and they’re taking over our Hunter Center concert hall on Saturday, February 15 at 8pm.

The Rastafarian revolutionary, who has been recording and touring for over two decades, also gets up and does yoga everyday. We’re pretty sure this one will be off the charts.

Tickets are selling fast, so make sure to get yours before they’re gone.

This event is sponsored by the Hans and Kate Morris Fund for New Music.

God is Where? Film Series: When I Walk

Meet filmmaker Jason DaSilva at the Q+A following the screening of his film, When I Walk, on Thursday, February 20, at 7:30pm.

Seven years after being diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, DaSilva brings us a harrowing but optimistic portrait of his physical decline. He reminds us of the importance of silliness and the breathtaking beauty in fleeting moments.

Join the conversation. Join the film club. Buy tickets to three films in the God is Where? documentary film series and receive an official MASS MoCA Film Club badge. Film Club members will also be invited to an exclusive tour of The Dying of the Light: Film as Medium and Metaphor, opening in the main galleries on March 29.

Hands on. Mind bent.

Swilling tall glasses of red wine in the smoky cafes of Paris, Andre Breton and his co-conspirators developed a corpus of mind-bending games to complement their new philosophy of surrealism. So let’s play.

On Saturday, February 22, at 8pm, house favorite
Roger Clark Miller (Mission of Burma, Alloy Orchestra) brings these riotous games to MASS MoCA. Bring a team or just bring yourself, but be prepared to throw down.

We take our Exquisite Corspe seriously.
