Study Abroad Opportunities

Through an exciting study abroad program, you can earn credits, fulfill
Core Curriculum requirements, build your résumé, and learn about the global
environment. Hundreds of opportunities are available for study almost
anywhere in the world. You can also apply for scholarships to help cover
program costs. Brooklyn College faculty-led programs for summer 2013 are:
Brooklyn College Study Abroad in China
This program combines course work in speech, history, business and/or
Chinese language with an extensive cultural and historical exploration of
the sights, sounds and people of China.
May 28 < June 24
Estimated Program Cost: $3,250 plus tuition
(Information sessions about this program will be held on Monday and Tuesday,
March 11 and 12, 12:30 ­ 1:30 p.m., in 3439 Boylan Hall.) Summer Seminar in
Learn about Ghana¹s history, culture and politics < and the legacy of the
Atlantic slave trade < as you explore this democratic African nation.
May 28 < June 30
Estimated Program Cost: $2,993 plus tuition and visa Politics, Identity and
Culture in International Perspective: Study Abroad in Jamaica
Immerse yourself in the sociopolitical aspects of Jamaica in a program that
investigates Jamaican history and culture to determine how it has formed a
distinct, but not monolithic, Jamaican identity.
June 1 < 30
Estimated Program Cost: $3,203 plus tuition Israel Then and Now:
Archaeology, Transformation and Comparative Cultures
During this trip to Israel, you will examine the breadth of Israeli history
through an exploration of its ancient past and current political state as
well as visits to archaeological and other sites of cultural interest.
June 16 < July 13
Estimated Program Cost: $4,324 plus tuition The Jadar Project:
Archaeological Dig and Field School in Western Serbia
In this hands-on program, you will increase your archaeological knowledge
and skill by surveying Bronze Age sites of millennia-old civilizations
alongside expert archaeologists from the United States and Serbia.
July 4 < 25
Estimated Program Cost: $3,053 plus tuition Apply now! Priority status is
