> Applications are now available for the Department of Anthropology and > Archaeology’s “Israel: Then and Now – Plus!” program. The offerings > have > changed this year: Three courses will be given abroad, two in > Israel and one > in Serbia.

> June 5-27 in Israel: Anthropology 2408 (3 credits). Archaeology of > Israel – > In Israel. Lectures, site tours and museum visits (no digging) > covering the > prehistory and historic archaeology of Israel in the context of the > Middle > East. Cost: approximately $3,000, including airfare and tuition. >
> June 28-July 27 in Israel: Core Curriculum 3208 (3 credits). > Cultures and > Transformations; The Peoples and Cultures of Israel. Social history, > immigration, emigration, political, social, ethnic and religious > differences > in modern Israeli society. Students may register for Anthropology > 3530, > which runs concurrently. Meets in Jerusalem; cost: approximately > $3,000, > including airfare and tuition.

> June 28-August 3 in Serbia: Anthropology 3015 (3 credits) or > Anthropology > 3470 (6 credits). Excavation and field school at a Bronze Age site in > western Serbia. Instruction in all aspects of an archaeological > project, > including survey, excavation, analysis and documentation. Cost: > approximately $3,000 for three credits, including airfare and tuition. >
> Summer Travel Opportunities for College Students (STOCS) scholarship > applications, available online or in the Anthropology and Archaeology > Office, must be submitted by March 15.
