Brooklyn MFA alums on exhibition

Devin Powers, Brooklyn MFA alum, is in two shows this fall

One is at the Philoctetes Center in the Upper East Side. It is a group show called,The Aesthetics of Math. Below is a link to the press release:

The other show called Quizotic is out in Bushwick. It’s an emerging artists show with approximately 40 artists involved organized by two recent Bard MFA’s.

Susan Dessel, Brooklyn MFA alum, opening on October 1st at Henry Street

In September 1654 the first group of 23 Jewish refugees arrived in then-Nieuw Amsterdam from Recife, Brazil. With the arrival of women a community was begun, marked by marriage, children, customs, traditions, and religious observance. The work in still lives give voice to these women and others who have largely been forgotten by history.
