Obituary: Denyse Thomasos, Brooklyn College Visiting Artist

July 25, 2012

Artist Denyse Thomasos tragically passed away this week due to an extreme allergic reaction to a dye injection for a routine MRI. She was the Artist in Residence at Brooklyn College from 2006-2007. She had a huge impact on the department at the time and numerous students were greatly helped by her studio visits as well as the workshops she designed and offered on life after grad school. She has continued to mentor several of these same young artists in their now professional careers. She will be greatly missed. Compounding this sadness is that she had recently become a mother. Her daughter Syann is two years old. She is survived also by her husband, Samein

The funeral Mass is on Friday, July 27, 2012 at 10:00 AM at the Old
Patrick’s Church (not the Cathedral)
263 Mulberry Street
New York, NY 10012
212-226-8075, fax- 212-226-1219

Enter the church using the side entrance on Mott Street between Houston
and Prince Street

Flowers can be delivered beginning Thursday, July 26 from 9:00 – 5:00 pm
up to 9:00 AM on the day of Mass.

To send condolences to her husband:
